Really, really confuse me
I don't understand human emotions

Why do people fall in love?
Why do people willingly choose to hurt others?
To hurt themselves?
I don't get it
I feel like I'm not human most days.
Like I'm some sort of alien, watching other people interact in an attempt to understand, yet unable to
I try to understand, but, every time I think I get it, I don't
I try to empathize
To a degree, I'm successful
Yet, when a friend calls me crying, why is it that I don't feel anything?

I feel like a shitty friend
I try to feel pity, sorrow, anything

The obvious demons of dreams
And the subtle liars of reality

That is the sight you would be met with should ever stand on the edge of the cliff and look down the length of the waterfall to the great expanse of water below.
But few did this. The waterfall had a fierce reputation, one it liked to uphold.
All of nature's creatures, except for the fish that were allowed to bask within the glory of its waters, kept their distance from this destructive being.
But, on occasion, there would come along a foolish two-legged creature who would boldly proclaim that they could conquer the waterfall, could overcome what nature had wrought.
